The Chase’s Shaun Wallace meets with All Blacks after Dunedin match
The Dark Destroyer on TV quiz show The Chase had a weekend to remember at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin. For Wallace, however, it was just the start of an eventful evening as he crowbarred his way into town to become a part of rugby history when New Zealand beat England 16–15.
Following the game, Wallace was in New Zealand for a charity event and received an audience with some of the big-name All Blacks. Accompanied by injured players Sam Cane and Will Jordan, he caught up coach Scott Robertson. But a presentation of an All Blacks jersey was the star attraction and it had him feeling deeply humbled.
On social media, Wallace said he was thrilled about the event and posted pictures of it with laudatory comments for the All Blacks squad. It was another day at the office, he noted, but one that obviously meant a great deal.
This trip was significant to Wallace who speaks of New Zealand with affection. His love of the Aotearoa is no secret; he frequently mentions how much he loves New Zealand’s beautiful countryside and being teased by its people.
Wallace will be teaming up with Sky-backed trivia and quiz firm Believe It Or Not (Bion), to put on charity events during his tour. And the response was immediately felt, as following his great time at due on July 5 — which took place at Queenstown’s Memorial Centre” (and “giving hopes of bigger things to come”) — he’s now embarking in experience just has part ahead and that is evident with his Dunedin show this past Saturday night.
From a local Auckland high school to the All Blacks, walls fall away when sports and knowledge are shared.
