Here’s a simple recipe for homemade Popeyes-style fried chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
  • Place the chicken thighs in a bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Ensure the chicken is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  1. Prepare the Coating:
  • In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  1. Coat the Chicken:
  • Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Dredge each chicken thigh in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Shake off any excess flour.

  1. Serve:
  • Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Popeyes-style fried chicken!

Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences. Enjoy your meal!
